How to be happier at work

Make EVERYDAY Happy Worker Day!

Many people really want to know the true way to be happier at work, and the following should be evident to help you manage that. However, keep in mind that the tips below are not how to be happy, but how to stop doing things that make you unhappy.

Usually, people think happiness involves adding things to your life to make your life great. But, these tips are more aimed at subtracting things. In turn, it will makes things a lot less stressful. People need to bring their business dream to life, and learn some happiness while they're at it.
  •  Weed out the blaming. For starters, people make mistakes. Vendors may not deliver on time, people may not be on time with project completions, or they may not have things up to code.

However, who is to blame? Well, you can be blamed, too. Taking responsibility is highly important. Why should we worry about blaming someone? Why not take responsibility if it's your issue. If it's someone else's issue, bring it before a manager. At least that's the best way to do it.

What if you're a manager or company executive? Then, you are the one that should take responsibility. Maybe you didn't provide enough training, build enough buffer, or just asked too much - too soon. Makes sense right? We move on...
  • Stop fearing. No reason to fear, no reason to worry. We're all afraid of something, but it's time to grow up and face our fears and step up to the next level! It's easier to hesitate, but in the long run, makes it more stressful for you.

This may lead to procrastination, late projects, etc. We need to think a bit longer, do what's needed for each project, and step it up full circle. No fear! No problem! Much happier!
  • Stop dwelling on the past! Move "past" that. In order to be happier with your job, don't worry about what happened in the past. From past employers to past projects, people may have the habit of dwelling on those things, particularly if they are negative. But, step out of that boat, and get into a newer dimension of skill.

Subject all other thoughts of the past out the window, and decide now to always think positive, work harder, and be happy in the end!
  • Stop trying to impress people. Sometimes, we can be fake, especially when we're trying to impress somebody. For crying out loud, just be yourself, and let the impressions come naturally.

You may be working hard one day, just doing what you do, when someone comes up and says something positive. That's certainly much easier to consider, in order to be happy. People will be fickle, they will depress you, when you're trying to impress everybody.

Trust me when I say it, when you try too hard to impress people, you'll end with getting nowhere special, because you're always hungry for that attention. But, what is satisfiable is having someone come up to you naturally, and tell you that they're impressed. Being smart and productive is the key to getting some respect, too!

When someone tells me "hey you're an intelligent guy", I simply reply... "okay, thanks." I don't get too excited, because I'm not trying to impress people. I'm just being me, and letting people notice if they want to. I'm nobody special, and I don't need to try to be.
  • Don't be clingy. Nobody likes a kiss-up, people say. So, don't do it. But, sometimes, when you're afraid or insecure, you're going to hold tightly to what or who you know.

Absence of fear, insecurity, or worry isn't happiness, but being without them is the key to becoming independent and regarded highly. It'll help with that impression, too.

Even if you don't succeed in earning what you want, working more independently, positively, and modestly - will bring greater rewards in the end...and make you more happy!
  • Don't harshly criticize or preach to people. You may be more educated, but preaching or criticizing people in a negative way is a wild way to make some enemies. Everyone is different - how many times we need reminder? The higher you rise and the more you seem to accomplish - you may get puffed up and haughty. You think you know everything...but guess what? People hear you but they don't listen. So drop the attitude and move forward with a kinder approach.

You want respect as a leader, make it a team effort. Be community! If you're not criticizing or preaching, but instead helping people and being kind, you'll get the respect you deserve. People will compliment you, they'll love you...it'll be great. It matters, if you want to be happy in the end!
