If you haven't already known, job recruiters and HR professionals typically conduct their own "personal" check on job seekers. These job seekers consider this activity as spying, but with how difficult some people have in finding jobs, this scares them into modifying their social networking profiles by deleting posts and changing profile information to protect their ability to get a job.
Many people post about how they party, enjoy their life, or how they hate their life. Many people post racy, sexual, or crude remarks. From curse words to other banters, these things could cause HR professionals and recruiters to look away to other candidates. It's a pretty typical thing that people who engage in partying or have generally aggressive behavior are more reckless, which is a turn-off for many companies.
Most people that are worried are older teens as well as young adults. Usually those that are nervous range from 16-34 years old, as an estimation. This is generally the age range, in which teens and young adults try to find what they want their life to turn out as, and thus want to stay young to avoid the uncomfortable reality of growing up and maturing completely.
Many people have trouble figuring out what their life should be like, because they lacked career direction when they needed it most, in their teen to young adult years. If people truly want to get jobs and move on to a great career, there is some discipline that is necessary. These disciplines include sacrificing fun among others. Good work ethic, good people skills, and good understanding of basic principles of resources (such as financing, management, and leadership).
Of course, it's time to coin the phrase that tons of other people are using right now: "think before you post!"
