When it comes to success, many people are afraid of it for many reasons. What we've been through in the past wasn't exactly successful, but then again being successful may not be a cup of tea for you?
Many reasons prevent someone from taking the next step into success, and usually it has to do with insecurities:
- Sacrificing family time, or being flexible as to interrupt your family time. Sometimes it could be a meeting you get called to at 6 PM, or someone calls you at 10 PM while you're in bed...it can be a bit tough to deal with flexible circumstances.
But, how're you going to get successful? Don't be afraid to be flexible. - Making extra money or getting a promotion with a title can have disastrous effects if your head isn't right. If you're not truly ready to step up to the next level, or you think you would use money or power for the wrong reasons - then this would be another reason people are afraid of success.
However, there are leadership training classes, finance & money management classes, and other related classes that can be taken to help manage money or leadership/power. Many people scare away from these things as well, because they can bring a lot of drama. But, if you learn how to solve problems quickly, then you'll also be able to keep the drama down. - It's easier to fail and said it wasn't right for you. Being successful is all about triumphing over failure, because success is naturally more complex than failure. It's usually more comfortable to stay in a familiar situation, right? Staying in failure, however, is nothing to be proud of. Move on to the next level and don't be afraid.
- Fear of not being yourself can make you afraid of success. But, the deal is, you can tell people that success is part of your new improved self, but "I'm still me!"
What do you do to cope with the fear of success, or even failure? Please comment!
