Ways to Overcome Hard Times as a Leader

Being a leader can be difficult, especially if you lead a large group of people, such as a business, organization, church, etc. When groups become difficult to lead, leaders need hope. How can you have hope, when people are generally misbehaving or being insolent?

What are some of ways to overcome troubling times as a leader?

  1. Have a purpose about yourself. What is the purpose of the leadership? Stick to the purpose, and you can overcome.
  2. Working harder at your job can be stressful, but it may be worth it. However, don't get caught in the trap that you have to make up for your entire team/individual. This will cause your job to be a lot more stressful and it'll seem like you're getting nowhere.
  3.  Be focused & disciplined. If you're taking your mind off of your purpose for leading, then you're allowing a vulnerability. Such vulnerabilities like someone else taking leadership, a demotion, etc. Be relentlessly focused on the purpose.
  4. Be patient. This is a hard one. But, being patient requires you to keep calm during circumstances, and allows you to still stay focused on your purpose, even when the others are failing. You should know that your failings are their failings and their failings are your failings. However, having enough patience to keep on swinging will bring great reward and success.
  5. Excellent leaders value friendships, relationships, family, etc. They value people in general. Although some people can be maddening, it takes patience and understanding and the ability to value somebody to truly stand out.
  6. Have a winning attitude. Always seem like you're going to win, even if failure hits you or your team.
  7. Above all, trust God! He is someone to rely on for support!
Overcoming tough times takes a lot of work, patience, and understanding - but it will all pay off!
